CAS Community Conversations

Dear CAS Colleagues, As many of you know, a number of stakeholders from across the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) have been engaged in a strategic planning process designed to articulate the vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities that will guide CAS into the future. This process has included students, staff, faculty, and alumni and it is unfolding in tandem with the broader University of Oregon strategic planning process. At this point, we are ready to share some early ideas on proposed components of our plan and we’d like to gather feedback from the broader CAS community. We will gather input at what we are calling “CAS Community Conversations,” which will involve CAS faculty, staff, and students from around campus. We would like as much engagement as possible, so I would like to invite you to attend one of the upcoming CAS Community Conversations, at which we will welcome your input on emerging potential priorities including: improving core education, strengthening advising, diversifying our community, reducing administrative burdens, raising the visibility of CAS, and more. A series of two sessions will take place in the Crater Lake Rooms (145 & 146) of the EMU, at the following times: Monday, April 29, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm Tuesday, April 30, 9:00 am - 10:30 am Please mark your calendars now to join one of these sessions in late April. These gatherings are intended to provide an important opportunity to shape your college's future and to have fun, connect with one another, and claim some CAS swag! (And yes, there will be refreshments and a prize drawing.) I hope to see you at one of our sessions. With appreciation, Chris Chris J.
