Overview
CAS provides Academic Support Account (ASA) funds to eligible faculty each year to support their academic activities. As of fiscal year 2016, the annual amount is $1500 per eligible faculty member.
The Dean's Office will transfer budget to units' ASA indices on faculty activity codes by the close of period 4. Any other budget changes to individual ASAs are strongly discouraged, and must be approved by CAS on an exception basis.
As you are processing expenses from ASA funds, make sure that you are coding the ASA index and the appropriate faculty activity code.
Accounts at the Duck Store
Individual faculty members will have accounts established at the Duck Store. The Duck Store will charge individual ASAs for purchases from these funds, eliminating the need for faculty to have a purchase order.
