A wide array of merit- and need-based scholarship funding exist at the U of O.
CAS and Department Scholarships
Many donor-funded scholarship and fellowships are awarded centrally by the College of Arts and Sciences (consult Sarah Bungum about this). Some CAS units are able to award their own scholarships. See the External Links section of this page for information on these scholarships and the application process.
Graduate School Funding and Awards
The Graduate School awards several scholarships to graduate students, and also maintains lists of funding and award opportunities.
University and External Scholarships
The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships provides information on University scholarships, and provides links to departmental and external scholarship opportunities. See the External Links section of this page.
Distinguished National and International Scholarships
The President's Office, in collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences and the Office of International Affairs, handles recruitment of prospective nominees and management of the application processes for distinguished national and international scholarships. Each of these highly competitive scholarships is assigned a UO faculty representative who is responsible for providing guidance to prospective applicants and ultimately confirming institutional endorsement of our nominees. Units should be aware of these honors and urge faculty to nominate their top-ranked students, and/or encourage them to consider applying. Students interested in pursuing any of these opportunities should consult the Distinguished Scholarships website for details of the programs and the name of the UO faculty representative.
