Emeritus status is automatically granted if a faculty member retires with five years of service at the highest rank in their category (for example, Sr. Instructor II or Professor). A faculty member who does not automatically qualify for emeritus status may be nominated for it with a letter from the department head/program director to the Divisional Dean. The department must attach the letter to the electronic Unpaid Appointment Form.
The electronic Unpaid Appointment Form needs to be approved by the department head/program director and by Sherri Nelson.
